iPhone 4G or New Google Phone?

What do you prefer the new Android HTC Desire or iPhone 4g? I had iPhone 3G for the last 3 years and I am happy with it, but now I am seriously thinking about the new HTC Desire over waiting for the new iPhone.

As owner of old 3G iPhone I can imagine what I will get with the next iPhone, also I read some impressive reviews for the HTC Desire (it comes with the latest 2.1 Android platform). IMHO, it is good to be not locked into the Apple network.

IMHO, Android phone has the following +/-:

+:
- Can use Flash on its browser
- Office apps inbuild
- Customised home screens
- Better email/contact sync
- There is no Apple network

-:
- Need to buy more memory
- Not an iPod
- Less apps available in store
- Battery live isn’t that much better than iPhone
- Bugs?

Guys, what do you think?

At first it need to ask you why do you need to buy either? Why not just stay with what you already have? Especially since you say you are happy with it.

Also I did not understand why “not an Apple product” is an advantage for the Android phone, and how an iPhone is “locked into the Apple network”. Last I heard, Apple was not one of the carrier options for connecting a phone.

Okey, you can say that I am iPhone’s fan. Yes, it is true. iPhone all the way, I am someone who used to be a serial upgrader. I updates my mobile every 6-8 months and never kept one past 6 months as I got bored. The iphone has changed that and I wont look past it again. I have already planned to upgrade each year they release one. Its the only phone Ive been absolutely attached to and couldnt live without it.
Each to their own. The haters will hate and the lovers will love. I accept that different things appeal to different people and everyone has their own needs and preferences. If only everyone else could see it that way instead of turning these things into pathetic religious debates just because something doesnt suit them….

About the camera on Android. I have the Eris. It has a 5 MP camera, no flash. It takes great pictures. I’m sure everyone will be very pleased with the Incredible’s performace unless it has autofocus/flash issues like the Droid did.

I know at least with the Eris, there were video and picture comparisons and the Eris outperformed the Droid in both low-light and high-light. It just doesn’t have flash. BUT I’d love it if the Incredible’s camera quality was as good as the Nokia N900’s.

2Sam: Do the HTC phones allow geotagging of the photos? My iPhone does that and it’s a very useful feature.

MikeTo, you wrote that nokia camera is incredible…
I went from a Nokia N95 to a HTC hero and must say that i was “incredibly” disapointed with the camera in my hero and i have decided that i will not buy a new phone before :

1. HTC makes a new android phone with a camera atleast as good as the one in my old nokia N95 or

2. I give up on HTC making camera’s that are comparable to kids play camera’s and buy some other brand of phone.

I will never ever again buy a phone with a camera as poor as the one in the hero…It is appaulingly bad…5 Mpixel’s but only able to take decent pictures in full daylight, outside and with a completely stationary target and a steady hand.
